Welcome to Mullumbimby

Home of Stewart’s Menswear, the biggest little menswear store in "The Biggest Little Town in Australia!"

Part of the Byron Shire, you will find Mullumbimby in the north east corner of New South Wales just 9km from the coastal town of Brunswick Heads and 20km from Byron Bay.

Mullumbimby sits at the foot of Mt Chincogan, our most notable landmark. Mt Chincogan, a lava plug of the now extinct Tweed shield volcano, keeps a watchful eye over Mullumbimby, towering over 300m above the town.

As kids we climbed “Chinnie” regularly and looked forward to the annual Chincogan Fiesta together with it’s colourful street parade and the race up the mountain.

These days Mt Chincogan is closed to the public except for one day in September each year when the Mullumbimby Chamber of Commerce run their annual Chincogan Charge. The charge was revived in 2017 after being dormant for 16 years and is the only day of the year that the general public can access the privately owned mountain.

The Biggest Little Town in Australia sign used to be situated at Uncle Tom's Pies, we knew it as the "3 mile peg", halfway between Mullum and Brunswick. Affectionately known by some as 'Tuckett's Tomahawk', the sign was constructed in 1964, a Community Project funded by the Rotary Club of Mullumbimby. It's new home is in the grounds of the Mullumbimby Museum.

Mullumbimby is home to a diverse and eclectic community. There is always something new and interesting happening in or around town that brings the people; locals and tourists alike, to our streets. Mullumbimby is the place to be – an amazing place to grow up and live in!

We’ve been dressing Mullumbimby since 1929. Ours is a fascinating story and we’d love to share it with you 😊
