The Circus Comes To Town

The Circus Comes To Town

Mullumbimby Museum

Stewart’s Menswear is part of the fabric of Mullumbimby. When we bought the store in 2004, we decided to offer one of our windows to the Brunswick Valley Historical society. The display is changed regularly by Mullumbimby Museum volunteers and it creates a lot of interest and comments.

The Society is run by volunteers who work tirelessly to provide a permanent record of our interesting and unique local history.

The window gives the Mullumbimby Museum a presence in our main street, reminding both locals and visitors of what a great place the Museum is to visit.

Spaghetti Circus

Just like us, the Museum are active members of the Mullumbimby Chamber of Commerce and often decorate their window in collaboration with us to promote local events. Their current display is a historical look at "The Circus Comes to Town", a pictorial display of visiting circus troupes over the years plus a little of the history of Mullumbimby's own Spaghetti Circus.

National Circus Festival

This historical window, along with our own decorated window are put in place to promote the National Circus Festival in Mullumbimby, featuring a Training school during the last week of September and culminating with a 3 day festival running over the long weekend in October.

Hosted by Mullumbimby's own Spaghetti Circus at the Mullumbimby Showgrounds, the National Circus Festival is a World class event you won't want to miss. You will see a non-stop 3 day program of incredible acts, the likes of which will amaze you and keep you on the edge of your seat!

A Grand Old Dame

This year's festival features the famous Spiegeltent. Built in 1920, this is the most beautiful and original of the last remaining Belgian Spiegeltents. She is a star in her own right and has played host to the world's greatest cabaret artists, musicians and circus burlesque performers and festivals and fairgrounds throughout Europe.

All the Fun of a Circus

With five stages, two Big Tops, the famous Spiegeltent, scrumptious food together with fun and unexpected delights, the National Circus Festival is to place to go for a weekend to remember.
